New Reaper Quest Help - Guild Wars Forums

Ok, I did 3 runs. I died in all 3 runs. It seems when reaching Pits, I die. I try to knock them down and they hex me. I heard some consumables can make it easier providing speed boost. What are the consumables that provide this speed boost? Also, whats the easiest way to get through Pits?

well first off, the best thing to use is red rock candy, then blue rock/cupcakes. rush to pits first, if u fail ull have wasted ur time doing the others.

Start off by following the first group of 2 just to the bottom of the hill, hit 4, rush alogng under the bridge, round the corner+up the hill.

Hugh the wall on ur left, just before the mob of 2 and the bridge, allow skill4 to regen, along with ur energy(and possibly hp). when the 2 start walking towards you, hit 4, then 1, go straight accorss the bridge. using 3 on any threshers in range, not ur ally.

Once u get to the bottom of the large, hill, having shaken off any aggro. regen ur hp again. then hit 4 and run right to the top=done.

then obviously, do a similar thing to get back down. for me, i didnt need any skills till i got to the bridge coz they had all moved. then just do all the others, with wastes last (coz its nearest the hall where u have to go).

Or, if you dont mind wasting an essence of celerity it will knock 20% off the recharge of the shouts and give you the ability to keep the enemies 100% friendly.

Good point. Does red rock candy do the same?

im uploading a video of youtube of the run atm, give me about 10 minutes and ill edit this post/make a new thread

EDIT: cons arent needed, just have to handle bridge in pits right.

Run in, KD any groups of 1-2, if you aggro more use 4 and find a safe spot

I find this halloween quest challenging and fun. I admit pits is a bit tough but thats the thing i really love it the way it is. It's not too easy and gives us a nice challenge which candy + essence would just ruin. Keep it up Anet i love these quests <3

And also i binded kd to spacebar it kinda helped me to execute my kd's faster but i don't know maybe thats just me :P. And when u find the safespots it also helps a lot.

Probably not that useful tips as above and safespots is kinda obvious but...decided to share my thoughts anyways

pits are hard only if you can't observe the radar and want to rush to the reaper. the whole quest takes a longer while if you wish to complete it safely - took me 30 min - but is fairly easy. just don't rush like a moron into mobs, balance outside of mobs' agro until the 4 is recharged (it's just 5s) and use all the skills, not just 1/4 (though 2 for pits is kinda useless). keep in mind it might be a good idea to hit 1, then rush a bit into mobs, even get one or two hexes, and then use 4 to switch more mobs, so it's safer later. a speed boost is also useful - i've used just a green candy cane

completed pits at the first try, no idea what's the whole problem about.

no need for consumables. took me about 5 tries to succeed this mission the 1st time but afterwords i was able to get it done with 100% success rate on other characters. once you know how to do pits its pretty easy really, making the best way to go lab->vale->mnt->Pools->Plains->Pits->Wastes->end

tip for people running up the mnts path whitout IAU while having charged blackness in ur arse...

1 green/blue/red rock candies are good
2 summon stones click on one and keep running aggro should stay back along whit ur summon.

3 why are you getting hex in pits? kill MMs first
